My husband beat me to using it and steam cleaned our den the other day. It is simply amazing.

I can't speak to how straightforward it was to assemble, since my husband did that part but it didn't take him long at all. It is very simple to use once you get the hang of the pushing/pulling trigger motion. The carpet dried really speedily and looks just as good if not better as it did when we had it professionally done. The Clean Surge feature is exceptional, it really helped with the traffic paths we use most,my arm was a little sore after using it!. One downside is that it is pretty noisy, but I would expect any steam cleaner to be that way. It comes along with a small bottle of Deep Cleaning Detergent which worked really well, but I also used some Bissell Detergent I bought from the store.

I've never had another carpet steam cleaner, but I would be content with using this exact one for the rest of my life. I would highly recommend the Hoover Steam Vac to anyone who is looking for the best carpet cleaner today. Cheers !
